Master classes
I specialise in running master classes and workshops for galleries, brands, and commercial events, and can tailor these for participants of all abilities. Whether for aspiring artists or enthusiasts looking to explore a particular medium, I can design the right experience for you. Below are some examples of the classrooms I have previously run.
BOTANICAL SOFT PASTEL
As part of their major exhibition on Brazil and the birth of Modernism, the Royal Academy of Arts teamed up with Granado to host an event that explored the history of the company
As part of this, I was asked to design a one day workshop on soft pastels for botanical drawing which would allow first-time users to explore the medium in a fun and informative way. (In Progress).
Marbling and bookbinding WORKSHOPS
I host regular workshops on suminagashi and traditional paper marbling at the beautiful Dulwich Picture Gallery in south London. Suminagashi, or “floating ink”, is an ancient Japanese marbling technique that entails floating ink on the surface of water and then transferring the patterns this creates directly onto paper.
In these workshops, you will experiment with this techniques, before creating a final book with your own marbling designs to take home at the end of the class.
Details of upcoming workshops can be found on the Dulwich Picture Gallery website.
